Colour Work Knitting

Exploring the Beauty of Colour Work Knitting

There are 2 straightforward ways to do colour work knitting. One is brioche, and the other is mosaic. Now I like to use a variegated or gradient colorway and a darker contrast color, in this case, it was black. After all, it’s hard to see if your colors match on the computer screen. Color Work is a creative document that explores the techniques of 2-color Brioche and 2-color Mosaic knitting. With a preference for variegated or gradient colorways paired with a contrasting darker shade, such as black, this text highlights the challenge of color matching on computer screens.

Now that you have chosen which one you like you’ll need to select a colour.  This is where I am getting very excited by the new Scheepjes Colour Parade yarns. They have little charts with colours that match the multi-colour skeins.

Soft, DK weight, and anti-pilling, this Premium 100% Acrylic yarn is available in 100g/300m balls. Each Parade colourway is a carefully curated blend of 4-6 shades from our existing Colour Crafter collection. Being compatible in weight and gauge with both Scheepjes Colour Crafter and Scrumptious, you can use your favourite patterns for those yarns, or combine them within the same project to create sensational colour effects.
